New contract

Starting a new contract?

Your contract’s insurance clauses and contract data say which covers you need, for what amounts and by when. Send us those requirements and we will review them with you, then help arrange a quotation.

How it works

From enquiry to cover, in four steps

  1. Tell us about your work

Describe the project or your business and what you want to insure.

  2. Share the required information

Send your contract’s insurance requirements and the details a quotation needs.

  3. Review your quotation

We explain what the quotation covers, what it excludes and how it compares with your contract.

  4. Confirm cover once accepted and issued

Cover begins only when the insurer has accepted the risk and confirmed the terms in writing.

Submitting a form or requesting a quote does not put cover in place. Cover begins only when the insurer has accepted the risk and confirmed the terms and start date in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Is CivilCovered an insurer?

No. CivilCovered arranges insurance. Insurers underwrite the policies and guarantee providers issue guarantees, each on their own terms. See about CivilCovered.

Does sending a quote request put me on cover?

No. A form or quote request does not put cover in place. Cover starts only when the insurer has accepted the risk and confirmed the terms and start date.

What do I need to get started?

A short description of your work and, if you have it, the insurance clauses from your contract. The quote form only asks for the details relevant to what you need.

Which covers does my contract require?

That depends on the contract. We start with its insurance clauses and contract data, and help you list the covers, limits and evidence required. See insurance after winning a tender.

Can you help with construction guarantees?

Guarantees are issued by guarantee providers after their own assessment. Tell us what your contract requires and we will confirm whether we can assist. See construction guarantees.

What if I hire in plant rather than own it?

Hired-in equipment is usually governed by the hire agreement, and cover is arranged around it. See hired-in plant insurance.
